City of Puno
Lake Titicaca

Lake Titicaca is claimed to be the highest navigable lake in the world at 12,500 feet. There are other lakes that are higher, but apparently none of them are big enough to have regular service by powered passenger ships. Lake Titicaca on the other hand is some 200 miles long in one direction, and has numerous boats plying its waters. It also forms a natural boundary between Peru and Bolivia.
