From the back of this partially fallen tomb you can see that the Incans built their smooth stone tomb around a simpler rock pile tomb. Notice how the smooth stones are only smoothed on the outside.

Typically these tombs were only for really important people. It's unlikely that an average Joe would have gotten one of these deluxe tombs.
